“Pink Wave” – County Road 4, Prince Edward County

This will be my second to final entry from the early July post-storm series. It’s been fun looking back at these recent memories and reflecting on the wonderful, almost surreal skies.

The image, aptly named “Pink Wave,” shows a local farm field and a stunning pink cloud formation. This image was made only a short distance from my prior images. It’s a field I often drive by and see photographic potential. In this case, the stunning pink sky, with just a hint of blue, was too good to pass up.

It’s a simple composition, looking across the wheat fields with a few trees for interest. I recall parking my car at the side of the road and looking up in awe at the bright sky. I focused on the tree in the foreground as I composed the shot. I clicked the shutter and looked at the result on my screen. One shot captured it exactly as I had seen it and preserved a great memory that is not likely to repeat itself anytime soon.
