“Waterfront Memories and Longlings” – Porto

As I sit here writing this post, with gentle Mediterranean music playing in the background, my thoughts drift back to Porto and this unforgettable moment.
I can still feel the gentle motion of the boat beneath me as it moved along the Douro River. I hear the water lapping against the hull, the sounds of life along the busy shoreline, and feel the warm sun and soft breeze on my face. These are wonderful memories from only two short weeks ago, yet they already feel much farther away.
Porto was a joyful place to be. The people were friendly and welcoming, and every hill, alleyway, and street corner seemed to invite exploration, promising a new discovery around the next bend. Then there was the food and drink. Every meal felt special, a futher treat to my senses. I can almost smell and taste those delicious moments.
What stays with me most is the deep sense of peace I felt there. Surrounded by so much history, it was easy to let my imagination wander and picture life in centuries past. Porto didn’t just capture my attention; it captured my heart.
