I love this photo. It simply happened. As I sat looking at the columns and really feeling the history. I was travelling with cousins and my cousin’s wife entered the frame. It made for a wonderful memory of a special moment.

The cathedral itself was built in 1071 and was consecrated in 1089. The incredible age of things here astounds me. I think of all the lives that have passed through these halls.

It’s an incredibly important cathedral in the Iberian peninsula and I intend to spend some more time studying the history of the incredibly interesting part of the world.

Once again, rendering this as a mono image communicates the solemnity of the place better than a colour image ever could.
