“Abandonado” – São Miguel
I love the hidden stories of the city, the mystery of the abandoned. This building, in a busy square sits abandoned while its neighbours are clearly occupied and modern.
There are stories here of lives lived and day-to-day routines. I think of these doors opening at the start of the day, children laughing and playing, neighbours chatting, now silent. Just one of many stories in this vibrant city.

I used a WordPress template but it was so long ago now that I can’t recall. I essentially scrolled through a bunch till I found one that I felt would work for my photos.

Sad to see, but shabby chic or abandoned makes for wonderful photos. Odd that it hasn’t been rehabbed if so many others have been.
It’s a very strange thing, given a global housing shortage.
That door must have been fabulous in its day. It’s attractive even in its decrepit state, in an artsy, impractical way.
