Thursday Doors – April 28, 2016
An interesting side entrance to Notre Dame Cathedral in Montreal. It would appear the door was added as an afterthought.

Nice one. I think I’ve seen that before and you’re right, it looks more like an entranceway to a courtyard or stables rather than an actual doorway. Thanks for sharing this 🙂
I created quite a series of Montreal doors on Tuesday afternoon 🙂 Will share one at a time 🙂
Yes, looks like a stable or coach door of some sort, lovely!
It leads to the basement, I assume. Yes, it may have been stables at one point.
I have never seen this one before. I will have to take a closer look next time I’m in Old Montreal.
It’s along the east wall.
Thanks
What a great find, Ed!

Interestingly, I’ve walked past them on a few occasions and never thought to photograph them.
Wow. I’ve seen so many photos of this cathedral and never have I seen these.
Thanks Joey. I’ve been there several times myself and never really noticed this one either. East side, half way back.
It’s such an unusual little entrance. The first word that came to mind was ‘Hobbits’ 😉
That was my thought too. A strange entrance.
