The auto-focus motor on my D300s has died. I’m not going to send it in…I don’t think it’s worth it now. It was and is a fantastic camera isn’t it.
Yes, I just happened along at the end of the day.
Too bad about your motor. For the past few years, my D300 has been my go-to camera. It’s just Rick solid. Yesterday I finally bought a D800 (my dream camera) and am looking forward to a new level of images. I’ll keep my D300 for my wide lens, as I hate swapping lenses outdoors. Keep an eye open for used, there are many good deals, if your motor repair is too expensive.
